Alfred was born in 1862. He was the son of William Meeks and Josephine Lattan.[1] He lived with his parents and siblings in New York City in 1870.[2]
Alfred married Elizabeth Hare on 29 Aug 1889 in Kearney, Hudson, New Jersey.[3] They had children. They lived in Queens, Queens, New York in 1910[4] and 1920, where he was station master for the railroad.[5] By 1930, he was still living in Queens, but was now an announcer for the railroad,[6] but he had retired by 1940.[7]

FamilySearch gives his birth year as 1860, while his gravestone says 1862.
