Biography

Maretje Meet was born in 1687 in Hackensack, New Jersey, the daughter of Grietje Mandeviel and Jan Meet. She married Peter Des Marets on May 14, 1709, in her hometown. They had seven children in 10 years. She died as a young mother in 1720 in New Bridge, New Jersey, at the age of 33, and was buried in New Milford, New Jersey.
