He grew up in the Weld County, CO area and attended schools in Eaton, Kersey, Barnesville, and Windsor. Evelyn Warner caught Alec's eye and they married on April 11, 1937 in Greeley, Colorado.

In 1938, their first child Lenora was born, followed by son Charles in 1940. Alec and Evelyn were farming in the Gill area at that time. Alec helped his father and mother farm in the Barnesville-Gill area until he moved with his family to the Weldona area of Colorado. Their daughter Kathy was born in 1942. The Weldona home they lived in was near the Orchard-Jackson Lake area, until the family moved to the Wiggins farm.

Alec & Evelyn Meisner

Alec and Evelyn enjoyed farming and raising three children and spent a lot of time with their extended families. They entertained visitors in their home quite often even while working long hours at harvest. They were members of the Wiggins Community Church and other local ag-related organizations. They celebrated their 35th Anniversary in Wiggins.[2]

He retired in 1979 after health issues prohibited him from farming. He enjoyed family celebrations and always the jovial fellow had a joke or two to tell. He especially enjoyed time dancing with Evelyn at Dutch Hops and joking with his brothers. He doted on Evelyn and his beloved Pomeranian dog "Taffy".

Alec and Evelyn moved to Greeley, Colorado in 1979. They built a home in the West Greeley area and he enjoyed tending to his beautiful roses and garden. Alec passed away in 1986 at the North Colorado Medical Center, in Greeley, Colorado.[3]
