Markus Georg Meisner was born around 1773 in Dinkel, Russia, to parents Matthias Meisner and Anna Elisabeth Schwemmler. Although Markus Georg was born in Dinkel, his father was from across the Volga River, the Bergsite of Grimm. He and brother Johann Georg moved to Dinkel after the deaths of their parents in Grimm.
