Johann Caspar Meißner was born April 16, 1746 and baptized April 17 of the same year, the son of Johann Caspar Meißner and Anna Elisabetha Sommer of Glauberg, in what is now Germany[1][2]
In 1751, he emigrated with his family to Halifax, Nova Scotia aboard the Murdoch[3][4]
In 1753, they were among the founders of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia[4][5][6][7][8][9]
On November 30, 1773, he married Anna Maria (Margaret?) Jung, daughter of Andreas Jung and Rebecca Elizabeth Conradt, also of Lunenburg[2], and their children included
