Françoise Melancon, daughter of Pierre Melanson and Marie-Rosalie Blanchard, was born 27 February 1709, and baptized 28 February 1709.[2][3]

Françoise (16) married Joseph Theriot (25) (born about 1699 in Cobeguit, Acadie, Nouvelle-France; son of Pierre Thériot and Marie Bourg) on 14 October 1725 in Saint-Charles-des-Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadie, Colony of Nova Scotia.[4][5][6]

Research Notes

DOBR gives marriage year as 1724, though Reader gives 1725, citing White and others, noting the discrepancy with DOBR. (Bourque-573 20:24, 27 August 2022 (UTC))

The WON entry says she was the widow of Thomas Theriot. The WON page for her says it was Joseph Theriot and her spouse on this profile is Joseph Theriot. Should the WON entry at the top of the profile be changed from Thomas to Joseph?

Thanks Cindy--good catch! I edited the given name of her deceased husband after consulting the Wall of Names Booklet.

Melancon-210 and Melanson-343 are not ready to be merged because: I think Melancon-210 and Melanson-343 both need to merge into Melanson-3. See if you agree.
