John Mell's birth year is uncertain so has been estimated as at least 21 years before his marriage in 1687 and in Lincolnshire.
- A John Mell was baptised at Luddington on 22 Sep 1655 to father Thomas but the Family Search transcription quotes a burial date of 14 Aug 1660 for this John.[1]
John Mell, Yeoman, married Ann Lindsley, a spinster, at Luddington by Licence dated 1 Dec 1687 when both of "Garthrop" [=Garthorpe] in the Parish.[2]
John Mell was buried at Luddington on 22 Sep 1712.[3]
John Mell of Garthorpe died intestate and Administration of his estate was vested in his widow Ann and son William with an inventory taken on 17 April 1713.[4]
