Biography

  • Fact: Other ( 1835) Ripley Co., Ind.
  • Fact: Residence (1850) Madison Township, Madison, Iowa, United States
  • Fact: Residence (1860) Grand River Township, Adair, Iowa, United States
  • Fact: Residence (1870) Missouri, United States
  • Fact: Other

In some records his middle initial definitely looks like a J. But others have him as Isaac, so perhaps it's just the old style of writing an I. In the earliest census record he appears in, as a small child, he is listed as "Janes Wilson," [sic] so I am uncertain about his true middle name.

Wilson-66893 and Wilson-66879 appear to represent the same person because: Again, the data on your profile is more accurate than what's on mine. I believe his name is Vance Isaac Wilson even though some census records have it as Vance J. and the earliest one had it as Janes J (so I had guessed it really was Vance James -- but that has proved unlikely).
