Biography

Jesse was born in 1760 in Charlottesville, Independent Cities, Virginia, United States. He was the son of William Samuel Melton IV and Lettice Elizabeth (White) Melton.^[1]

When Jesse was about 20 he married in 1780 in Albemarle, Virginia, United States. The couple had one child: Jesse E Melton.^[2]

In the 1820 census Jesse (age about 60) was living in Henderson, Henderson, Kentucky, United States.^[3]

In the 1830 census Jesse (age about 70) was living in Fayette, Montgomery, Virginia, United States.^[4]

In the 1840 census Jesse (age about 80) was living in Henderson, Kentucky, United States.^[5]

Jesse died at the age of about 80 in 1840 in Henderson, Kentucky, United States.^[1][6]
