Biography
Elizabeth was daughter of Sir James Melville, 2nd Laird of Halhill. She married Sir John Scot, Lord Scotstarvit on 1638 or 1639. She died before January 1646. Scott took his third wife, Eupham Monypenny in 1646 (certificate of marriage dated 6 January 1646).
Elizabeth had two children, Elizabeth, baptized on 2 October 1640, and George Scott (writer on America) who was baptized on 7 April 1643, when Sir James Meliville, the grandfather was present. These baptisms are recorded in the parochial register of Kinghorn, the parish in which Sir John Scot was an elder.
