Fenwick (Eddie) Edwin Melvin was born on 12 April 1908 in Coloc Bay, Southland, New Zealand. He was the son of William Henry Melvin (1873–1935) and his wife Martha Jane Grenfell (1879–1940).
He passed away on 11 October 1963 in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.
