Biography

Joseph MENARD ADRIEN was born on Oct 22, 1736 and baptized on Jan 2, 1737 at Ste-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur. He was the son of Jean Menard and Marie Elisabeth Isabelle Bourgault dit Lacroix. [1]

He married Marie Therese Tetreau dit Ducharme on 2 Feb 1761 at St-Antoine-de-Padoue. Together, they had the following known children[2]

  1. Joseph Adrien, n. 18 Nov 1761, St-Denis, d. 24 July 1834, St-Antoine-de-Padoue; he married Marie Anne LEFEBVRE at Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue
  2. Louis, n. 13 April 1763, St-Antoine-de-Padoue, d. 10 Jan 1828, La Présentation (St-Hyacinthe); he married Marie Madeleine LEDOUX on 4 Aug 1812 at La Presentation (St-Hyacinthe)
  3. Marie Isabelle, n. 23 Feb 1765, St-Antoine-de-Padoue, d. 7 April 1765, St-Antoine-de-Padoue, (Died Young)
  4. Alexis, n. 16 Feb 1766 , St-Antoine-de-Padoue, d. d. 5 Dec 1772, St-Antoine-de-Padoue, (Died Young)
  5. Antoine, n. 6 Dec 1768, St-Antoine-de-Padoue, d. 7 Oct 1843, St-Dominique (Bagot); he married Marie Marguerite BONIN on 2 Feb 1795 at St-Antoine-de-Padoue
  6. Pierre Adrien, n. 10 March 1771, St-Denis, d. 28 Jan 1841, La Présentation (St-Hyacinthe); he married Marie CHARON on 24 July 1796 at St-Antoine-de-Padoue
  7. Marie Marguerite, n. 5 June 1773, St-Denis, d. 17 Feb 1775, St-Antoine-de-Padoue, (Died Young)
  8. Josephe Adrienne, n. 30 Aug 1776, St-Antoine-de-Padoue, d. 15 June 1801, St-Denis; she married Bernard DUMAS on 22 July 1799 at St-Antoine-de-Padoue


He passed away on 15 May 1776 and was buried at St-Antoine-de-Padoue on the 17th of the month.
