Registration begins soon for the January thon. I will be reminding you when it is time to register, but I have some news that will be helpful when that time comes. I have been told that we will be trying a new registration system. When you go in to register, it will not be just making a comment as in the past. The new system will have sections for each team. You will just find the Legacy Heirs one and post to that one.
That means the first Thon of the year will be a Connect-a-Thon on the weekend of the 19 - 22 Jan 2024. I would love to have you with your fellow Legacy Heirs at that time, if it works out for you. I will remind you about registration when that time comes.
P.S. I now know a quick and easy little tip on how to add profiles. If you use the Sourcer/Searcher app, and want to know the hint, let me know and I will send you the steps.
Thanks so much for your addition to Sallie McHam of TX... when people do this its so great because it allows me to revisit and add any new things I have on a random basis as well as the methodical ways I usually use.
The annual Source-a-thon is coming up. It will be from September 29th to October 2nd.
Registration has begun!! I would be so blessed if you go to: Register now for the 2023 Source-a-Thon! - WikiTree G2G and answer that you are in and are a Legacy Heir!!!!
Thank you for being part of the Charming Chestnuts team this weekend. Congratulations on your two silver medals for adding sources and for adding profiles! How did you ever find time to chat on Discord? Leon Tuck was the #1 Olympian, and our team won a bronze medal, a silver medal, and a gold medal, and achieved first place overall! Great job, and great fun working with you, too!

This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.
Thank you for adding me to the Google group, Mary. I was able to log in, and it looks great! I see that we even receive notifications when non-members leave a comment on Texas profiles. What a great way to reach out to potential new WT and Texas members.
Jay a lot of the comments on the Texas Google group are comments left on the profiles of the Alamo Defenders, which are PPP and thus have the Texas account on them. That recorded their comments on the Google group as well..
I am still adding, when people send their email addresses. It is taking a while.. As everything does.
Jay, Thank you for joining the May USBH Connecting Challenge and helping us create 3182 new profiles. Our new total is 107702. We have less than 43000 to our 2022 goal!
Hi Jay, First welcome to WikiTree, I saw that you just joined WikiTree officially in Apr 2022. Glad to have you aboard.
The reason I am writing is that I noticed you chose our Integrators Challenge for this month.
Being that you have not become fully noted as a WikiTree genealogist and not really familiar with how we do things yet, it could have been a mistake. Please note that one must be with WikiTree about 3 months to participate. Actually the Integrator challenge is an advanced challenge that we offer.
When you complete a new profile for one of your relatives just skip over checking a challenge when trying to save the profile. If you have any questions please get with a greeter and they will be glad to help you along the way. Also you can go here to see how we recommend newcomers to get started:
Hi again Dorothy I'm sorry, but it looks like I accidentally clicked on your Integrators Challenge again. I am participating in two of the other challenges and my mouse must have wandered, Black Heritage (where I’m currently ranked 4th!) and the Sourcerers Challenge (where I’m currently ranked 3rd!). I will be more careful in the future but I will also ask that you refrain from posting these form letters here and message or email me. You wrote the same letter here three weeks ago. I, of course, do not expect you to remember that, or even the fact that I was on your last thon team. I know that even those lists can be long, but, c’mon, I was your top scorer! Still, thank you again for the work you do, Jay.
Your name came up in today's email feed. We show as 11th cousin, with common ancestor, Marcos Alonso de la Garza Falcón (1545-). When I checked our gedmatch comparisons, we share a 16.4 segment. My paternal grandfather was Vicente Lopez, from the Cerralvo area. Love to hear back. It's always nice to meet a new primo!
Sincerely,
Donny
I added you to the list of Texas Project's members. You can add the Category: Battle of San Jacinto to your ancestor. Then add the (: [[ ) to each side of the Category.
Thank you Mary, I'll get on this. I would have replied sooner but I was doing the 'Thon this weekend. My first one! It was a lot of fun but very tiring. I worked exclusively from the Texas_unconnected list and was able to connect 1300 Texas profiles! I'm from S TX so I tried to stay down there. That part was fun, seeing familiar towns (villages really) and names. Looking forward to working with you on Texas!
Congratulations on the 'Thon' , Jay. I am sure you have noticed, but all of Texas is divided into Counties. South Texas has its own counties of course. Look at them, they might need more data, that only a person from that area would know. I know I was able to write a lot about Bexar and Denton Counties, because I have lived there.
Mary, I just visited the page for the county where I was born, Zavala County, and I was just Blown Away! It is such an awesome page, and so informative. Unfortunately, it's better than anything the city or county as on their own sites. I learned things about my own home county that I never new. I'm going to add the link here too. That way if someone finds me here from my hometown they can see it. Thanks Mary!

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. It will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the WikiTree site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
