Louis died at age 65 years, 5 months, 14 days, on 27 Mar 1923 in Honey Creek Township, Delaware County, Iowa.[1] He is buried at Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Delaware County, Iowa.[4]
H.J. Bixby was appointed administrator of Louis' estate in Delaware County, Iowa, on 18 May 1923. The estate's final report was filed 23 Aug 1924 with a hearing on 27 Oct 1924. Louis' surviving spouse, Mary Menge, was to receive the residue of the estate.[7]
