She was born Oct. 1, 1918 in the Panama Canal Zone, Central America, the daughter of Chester and Eliza (Oxley) Menzies. An accomplished seamstress and cook, Mrs. Shepard enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, playing cards and word games. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was devoted to her family. CONT CONT Survivors include her husband of 41 years, George H. Shepard of Fredonia, whom she married in 1941; a son, Dale Osman of Fredonia; two daughters, Roberta Bobbe Kennedy of Fredonia and Linda Rodgers of Southport, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Imler of Cobleskill and Lindy Carmelengo of Villaro, N.J.; a sister, Edie Smith of Fredonia; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her second husband, Lee Osman; a brother, Chester Menzies; and two sisters, Anna Belle Menzies and Jane O'Donnell.
