Alexander Menzies was born in 1788 at Farleyer House, Weem, Perthshire, Scotland.[1] He was the son of Robert Menzies and Mary Menzies.
Alexander Menzies passed away sometime during 1817.[2]

To an article by Bruce Menzies - further information supplied to him by Mr Douglas-Menzies, Hamshaugh, Northumbria:
The Robert Menzies, W.S., who succeeded the Alexander Menzies who died c. 1817 as 'Menzies of Bolfracks', was the son of Robert Menzies of Farlayer, Factor to the Chief, and grandson of a Robert Menzies in the Kirktown of Weem.
