Birth and Baptism
Archibald Menzies was born and was baptised on 18 Jan 1739 in Dull Parish, Perthshire, Scotland.[1][2] He was the son of Robert Menzies and Isabel Stewart.
Marriage
Archibald Menzies married Ann Unknown.
Research Note
- Several letters written by Maria Menzies, wife of Robert Menzies (1744-abt.1825), included in the History of the Holland Family (Appendix) contain information about Robert's family. His father married the Laird of Donnimachary's daughter. He had two brothers, John and Alexander. Robert's wife was the daughter of the Stewart the Laird of Gaerth. Their eldest sons John and Archibald both died abroad with no children, Robert who married Maria, and Alexander who died young.
