Biography

Gilbert was born about 1390. He married Isabel, the daughter of Sir William Fraser, 2nd of Philorth.

In 1421, a Gilbert Menzies is noticed as the grandson of William de Camera (Chalmers), Provost of Aberdeen in 1404, who was the son of William Chalmers of Findon. The mother of this Gilbert must then have been the daughter of William de Camera. The lands of Findon are then found in the possesion of a branch of the Menzies family.[1]
