Mary Sinclair Menzies was born on 26 Mar 1850 and was baptised on 19 Apr 1850 in Drymen, Stirlingshire, Scotland.[1] She was the daughter of Archibald Menzies and Elizabeth McNaughton.
Marriage
Mary Sinclair Menzies married George Prior on 2 Feb 1877 in
Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.[2] They had four children during their marriage;
1851 [3]- Ibert, Drymen, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Relationship to Head of House: Daughter. Living with parents and 2 visitors; her aunt Agnes Sinclair aged 64 from M'Crion, Argyllshire, Scotland and James Sitten aged 5, Scholar from Kilmore, Argyllshire, Scotland.
1861 [4]- Public House, Drymen, Drymen Parish, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Relationship to Head of House: Daughter. Living with parents and 3 siblings; Catherine 9, Christina 7 and Isabella 3. Also Margaret Blair employed domestic servant.
1881 [5]- Wellpark House, Drymen, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Relationship to Head of House: Daughter. Living with mother Elizabeth and aunt Agnes McNaughtan aged 45. Also Robert Prior her son aged 3.
Immigration
George and Mary Prior immigrated to the United States arriving on 25 Aug 1912 at Ellis Island, New York.[6]
