Jun 2021: Theory that he was born Theophilus Twiford, son of Clement Twiford b. 1785 Delaware and Milcah Hicks b. 1790 Maryland and if this is true, Marsden's birth place would be Ohio. Has many DNA matches with Twiford and Hicks descendants, but none with Merchants.
