William Archibald Meredith was born on 20th July 1924 at Raymond Terrace, New South Wales, Australia. He was the eldest son of John Meredith and Alice Windeyer.
William served in the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War as a Leading Aircraftman in the 5th Operational Training Unit; enlisted 8th September 1942, discharged 30th October 1945.[1]
He married Mollie Rye on 11th June 1947 in Christ Church Cathedral Chapel, Newcastle, New South Wales.[2]
He passed away on 12th December 2004.
