Biography

Last name is also found as Myrick. Hannah Merrick (aka Myrick) was born in 1700 in Eastham, Cape Cod (Barnstable Co.), in the British colony/province of Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Merrick and his wife, Alice (Freeman) Merrick.

Marriage: John Snow[1]

On August 12, 1721, John Snow married Hannah Merrick in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. John and Hannah (Merrick) Snow had the following children together:[2]

  2. HANNAH SNOW b: 4 May 1727 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts

  4. PHEBE SNOW b: 6 Apr 1728 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts
  5. JONATHAN SNOW b: 25 Mar 1730 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts
  6. ABIGAIL SNOW b: 23 Nov 1731 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts
  7. MEHITABLE SNOW b: 16 Jan 1733 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts
  8. GIDEON SNOW b: 11 Dec 1736 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts
  9. WILLIAM SNOW b: 1 Nov 1738 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts
  10. ELI SNOW b: 7 Apr 1740 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts
  11. DAVID SNOW b: 24 Jan 1742 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts

In 1743, the will of Nathaniel Merrick mentioned his daughter, Hannah (Merrick) Snow.[3]

Unfortunately, Hannah (Merrick) Snow died on February 16, 1764, in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts, leaving John Snow, by this time a Deacon in the Harwich Congregational (Puritan) Church, a widower. All their children were grown by this time.
