Elizabeth Hambling Merrick was baptised by her parents Robert William and Selina on August 18th 1867 in St. Clements, Bristol^[1]

In 1871, 4 year old Elizabeth H is living in a cottage in the timber yard, Meadow Street, Bristol with her parents^[2].

In 1881, 14 year old Elizabeth is living in the St. Pauls area of Bristol with her parents^[3].

In 1891, 20 year old unmarried Elizabeth is living in York House, Upper York Street Bristol with her parents^[4].

In 1901, 25 year old unmarried Elizabeth is living in 41 Pier Street, Plymouth with her family^[5]

Although named as Elsie in the marriage record, Elsie's father is named as Robert William, the middle name Hambling ties her to her mother (maiden name) and later Elizabeth's sister names Elizabeth Hambling Coombe in her probate record.
