John Merrill was born in Cambridgeshire, England.

Biography

John was baptised on 25 Oct 1792 at Hatley St George, Cambridgeshire, the son of John Merrill and Elizabeth Carter. [1]

He married Mary Bright in 1816 at All Saints & St John, Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire; John of Caxton.[2]

He had two children before his early death: Mary 1817, buried 1827, and John Richard 1820.[3]


By trade he was a shoemaker, so described in the baptism entry of his son.[4]

He was buried on 17 Jun 1821 at Hatley St George, Cambridgeshire. "John Merril, of Caxton, age 28".[5]
