Phebe Merriman, daughter of Moses Merriman and Martha (Beach) Merriman, was born 27 Mar 1720 in Wallingford, Connecticut.[1][2]
She married twice. She first married Moses Munson 18 July 1739, in Wallingford [1][2] Moses died in 1750 and administration of estate was granted to Phebe Merriman 4 Nov 1751.[3]
Phebe Munson married Josiah Bartholomew 9 Apr 1752 in North Branford.[1][4] Josiah died, intestate, before 1 Aug 1786, in Cornwall (town next to Goshen). Phebe, Jesse and Isaac Merriman requested, on that date, that the court grant administration to Tryal Tanner, which was duly granted. Distribution of the widow's thirds was made to Phebe on 11 May 1787.[5]
Phebe was admitted to the Northford Congregational Church 7 June 1752. She came from the church at Wallingford.[4]
Phebe's gravestone at the Old Middle Street Cemetery, Goshen, reads: In memory of Mrs Phebe Bartholomew confort to Mr Jofiah Bartholomew who died Septr 25th 1799 in the 80th year of her age.[6]
Moses Munson and Phebe Merriman had six children all born in Wallingford.[1]
