Elizabeth was born on 13 Nov 1837 in Posey County, Indiana to Anderson Merritt and Martha Nelson.^[1]

She and her family live in Posey County and Delaware County, Indiana^[2] before moving to Marion County, Illinois sometime before the 1860 Census.^[3]

Sometime after 1860, she married. Her death record gives her married name as "Rockhold," but her husband's name is not listed.^[1]

Elizabeth died on 19 Feb 1913 in Kinmundy, Marion County, Illinois. She was widowed.^[1]
