Barbara Ann Mary Merry, daughter of James Merry (1836–1916) and Margaret Doyle (1845– ), was born 24 June 1876 in Charlottetown, Queens, Prince Edward Island, Canada.[1] She was named after an older sister, Barbara Ann, who died before Annie's birth in 1876.[2] She is listed with her parents and siblings in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in the 1881 Canada Census,[3] the 1891 Census,[4] and the 1901 Census.[5]
Annie married Louis Ivan Austin Macdonald, 14 September 1909 in Moyie, Kootenay, British Columbia, Canada.[2] They settled in Moyie where they are listed in the 1911 Canada Census.[6] They remained in Moyie for several years where 4 children were born. Shortly after the birth or their 4th child, the Macdonald family returned to Prince Edward Island where a 5th child was born. Their children were:
The Macdonald family is listed at Montague, Kings, Prince Edward Island in the 1921 Canada Census,[7] and again in 1931.[8]
Annie died on 2 March 1950 in Montague, Prince Edward Island.[9] She is buried in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Montague, Kings, Prince Edward Island, Canada. [2]
