Researchers Notes

This John Merryman is ASSUMED to have been born about 1614 at Monkton Manor, Herefordshire England, a son of Thomas Merryman and Alice Russell.

Not the same person John Merryman, who was baptized on September 26, 1622, in Middlesex, England, was the son of George and Mary Merryman. [3]

This Source has to be used carefully, as John Merryman of Lancaster (this profile), is sometimes confused here with John Merryman the Lawyer (Who died in 1664.) There is an interesting discussion of that problem in the "Notes" Section. http://homepages.rpi.edu/~holmes/Hobbies/Genealogy2/ps36/ps36_144.htm: This page discusses John Merryman, born before 1617, in England, who died before June 1664, in Virginia

Merryman-163 and Merryman-6 do not represent the same person because: different death dates
posted by Lilia Merryman
Merryman-231 and Merryman-163 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, year of death and place of death
posted on Merryman-163 (merged) by Seely (Kenny) Foley
Merryman-19 and Merryman-20 appear to represent the same person because: Looks like a double entry by mistake. Suggest dates should be added even if they are a guess
posted on Merryman-19 (merged) by Seely (Kenny) Foley
Merryman-188 and Merryman-20 do not represent the same person because: Merryman 188 is not the same person as Merryman 20. Merryman 188 lived in Charles City and his descendants in Goochland. The John Merryman who married Audrey lived in Lancaster and his descendants lived in Maryland.

Merryman-191 and Merryman-6 do not represent the same person because: Two different families

Regarding proposed merge, Confusing 2 families here. The John Merryman from Lancaster who first purchased land there in 1649 and who married Audrey (her last name has not been proven) and whose children moved to Maryland after his death, is not the same branch or person as John Merryman from Charles City and Goochland who arrived in the mid 1630s. Also, there is also no evidence of a 1625 birth in Virginia for any Merryman.
posted by Lilia Merryman
Merryman-188 and Merryman-20 appear to represent the same person because: These both represent John Merryman, father of John Merryman who married Audrey.

Please approve if you agree. Thanks!

Merryman-19 unmerged match

Different parents, yet both are for John Merryman who married Audrey.

What is our evidence for the parents of this John Merryman? Thanks!
