Biography

Allen Murry Merryman was born in 1762, in Cumberland county, Virginia, a son of John Merryman, Jr. and Nancy Murry. In 1789, in Fluvanna county, Virginia, Allen married Elizabeth G. Tilman. Allen is found on the List of Tithables on March 8, 1790, in Fluvanna county, Virginia. ^[1]

Allen Merryman is found on the United States census of 1830, living in Rockcastle county, Kentucky. ^[2] Rockcastle County was formed in 1810 from portions of Lincoln, Madison, Knox, and Pulaski Counties. On the 1840 census, A.P. Merryman is living in Simpson, Kentucky. ^[3]
