Hester Mesereau was born on 9 Sep 1796 in Unadilla, Otsego, New York to Judge Joshua Daniel Mersereau IV and Dinah Garretson. She married Hugh Campbell Johnston in 1819. Children: Theodore Mesereau, James H, Susan A, Hester Ann, Margaret Alida, Martha Frances. She died on 16 Oct 1879 in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, California.
