Biography

Andrew was born in 1823. He was the son of Jacob Mersereau and Margaret Donald. He married Sarah Ann Washburn in Blackville in November 1847 as recorded by The Gleaner and Northumberland Schediasma : "m. Blackville (North Co.) 4th inst., by Rev. John Turnbull, Andrew Mersereau / Miss Sarah Ann Washburn both of Blackville." The couple had six children when Andrew died as a young man. Sarah took the children and emigrated to Maine in 1867. The youngest child Burnace may have been born after his father's death or at least was very young when Andrew died. A death record hasn't been located yet.
