Biography
John Mesny was born 1844 in Alderny, ECI, son of William and Marie Rachel. John and his brother William joined the Freemasons and took the journey to China. John's first position was First Class Tidewaiter for the UK-Chinese Maritime Customs Service in 1866 and then as Boat Officer until 1884 upon his death.[1] John married Chang Ker Lai Lias December 22, 1874, in Hankow, China.
