Hyacinthe Messier was baptized on 1 December 1717 in Badonviller. He was the son of Nicolas Messier and Françoise Grandblaise.[1] A councillor to the reigning Prince of Salm-Salm, and the widower of Agnès Vallet, he died on 30 March 1791 in Senones. The burial was attended by his son Joseph Hiacinthe Messier, attorney; and his brother Nicolas Messier, mayor of Badonviller[2]
