Catherine married Peter Duncan on 29 December 1870 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire[2].

Catherine emigrated to Australia with her husband Peter and her children aboard the ship "Oban Bay" arriving in Townsville, Queensland on 19 July 1883[3].
Catherine died on 18 November 1912 in Chillagoe, Queensland, Australia, aged 59[5] and was interred at Chillagoe General Cemetery[6].
