Catherine (Meston) Turner was born in Scotland.

Catherine Simpson Meston was born on 3 May 1853 in Wick, Caithness, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of George Meston (~1826–1864) and Catherine Simpson (1831–1872).^[1]

Her siblings were:

Catherine married Peter Duncan on 29 December 1870 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire^[2].

Catherine emigrated to Australia with her husband Peter and her children aboard the ship "Oban Bay" arriving in Townsville, Queensland on 19 July 1883^[3].

Following the death of her husband Peter, Catherine married Arthur John Turner (born on 10 January 1867 in Brisbane, Queensland; son of Thomas Clarke Parker Turner and Eliza Lavinia (Pennell) Turner) on 16 January 1893 in Townsville, Queensland^[4].

Their daughter was Dorothy Turner (1894–1972).

Catherine died on 18 November 1912 in Chillagoe, Queensland, Australia, aged 59^[5] and was interred at Chillagoe General Cemetery^[6].
