William Jefferson was commissioned 1st lieutenant in the 18th Regiment Illinois Militia on Dec 19, 1828. his occupation was a farmer. He married Narcissa Lee Oct 17, 1824 in Greene County Illinois. He married Margaret Adams Mar 30, 1853' he married Nancy Nelson Sept 16, 1856 both he and Narcissa are buried in Hopson cemetery in Hamilton Illinois.
