Arthur John Metcalfe was born on 26 June 1895 in Hamilton, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Annie Metcalfe (nee Kessell) and John Ewan Metcalfe.[1]
He was educated at the University of Sydney.[2]
He married Kathleen Mary McCauley on 2 October 1920 at the Methodist Church in Mosman, New South Wales.[1] They had a daughter and two sons.[1]
Arthur died on 24 March 1971 in Harbord, New South Wales.[1]
