Charles married Alma Marie Luther (1896-1973) on 7 May 1914 in Clay, Indiana. They had children. Charles died in San Diego, San Diego, California on 28 February 1968.[2]

IN), a Gro. Salesman, who owned their house with a mortgage; his wife of eleven years, Ollie A., 29, b. Illinois in Oct. 1871 (parents b. IN), who had had four children, all of whom were living; their children, all born in Indiana, George William, 11, b.Nov. 1889, in school; Charles H., 9, b. Dec. 1891, in school; Ida, 6, b. March 1894, in school; and Harold, 2, b. June 1898; also, Charles Sr.’s mother, Mary, 68, b. IN in July 1832, a widow.[3]
In 1910, they lived at 1711 N. Fourth St., Terre Haute, Indiana. They owned the house with a mortgage. The family included Charles H. Metcalf, 45, a commercial traveler, selling oils and paints; his wife of 22 years, Olive A., 39, who had had four children, all were living; their children, George W., 20; Charles H., 18, a glass works glass bower; Ida M., 16, sales lady at the bazaar; and Harold M., 11.[4]
Charles Metcalf and Gladys Russell were married on 10 August 1912 in Vigo County, Indiana.[5]

Charles, a laborer, was born 3 December 1892 in Vigo, Indiana, the son of Charles Metcalf and Olive Garrison. He was a resident of Terre Haute. Alma was born 20 March 1896 in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of William Luther and Alice Burger. Alma was a resident of Brazil, Indiana. Charles’ mother was deceased. His father, a painter, born in Kentucky, resided in Kansas City, MO. Alma’s father, a laborer, resided in Brazil, IN. Her mother, born in Clay County, IN, was a resident of Terre Haute.[6]
Charles H. Metcalf died on 28 February 1968 in San Diego, California. He was born 3 December 1892 in Indiana. His mother’s maiden name was Garrison.[7]
Charles H. Metcalf, 1892-1968, is buried with his wife Alma at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Bonita, San Diego, California.[8]
