Obit 5 DEC 1963. Note: Funeral services with Requiem Mass were offered in Sacred Heart Church, Rockne, for Peter Meuth Jr., 86, Monday morning, December 2, at 10 a.m. Mr. Meuth passed away at this home Friday afternoon, November 29, at 3 p.m., following a lingering illness. Rosary was recited for the deceased at his home Sunday evening at 7 p.m. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rockne. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Raymond Hoffman, Marcus Meuth, Valon Meuth, Austin; Charles DeWill Alexander, Bateman; Clyde Hoffman, Houston, and a nephew Willie Matjeka of San Antonio. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Theresa Meuth, Rockne; four sons, Richard Meuth, Adolph Meuth, Rockne; Anton Meuth, Austin; Willie Meuth, Dale; two daughters, Mrs. Freda Kadura, Austin; Mrs. Albert Hoffman, Rockne; three brothers, Joe Meuth, Frank Meuth, Alex Meuth, San Antonio; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Beck, Smithville; Mrs. Mary Matjeka, Mrs. Ida Matjeka, Mrs. Katie Stall, San Antonio; 31 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Mr. Meuth was born in Bastrop County September 20, 1877, son of the late Peter and Catherine Meuth. He and Mrs. Theresa Matjeka were united in marriage in St. Mary's Catholic Church, String Prairie, November 22, 1904. Mr. Meuth, a lifetime member of the Catholic Church, was a member of the Holy Name Society, Rockne. A host of relatives and friends from the Rockne community and surrounding towns and communities attended the funeral.
