Biography

Her parents were Hendrickje Harmens, a native of Amstedam in the Netherlands, and Marten Janszen Meyer, who had immigrated to New Netherland from Elsfleth, an important seaport in Oldenburg, Germany.

She was baptized on 10 June 1663 in the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam, New Netherland (later to become part of New York City, New York, USA). [1]

She is mentioned her parents' joint will, dated in New York, March 16,1692/3. The children named in the will were Johannes Meyer, eldest son and heir; Hartman [Hermanus]; Martin; Elsie Meyer married with Burger Myndertz ; Belitje Meyer married with Claas Gysbertsz; Helena married with Eduard Cock; Catharina and Anna Meyer "ongetrout" (unmarried). [2]

In about 1680 Elsje married Burger Myndertszen (sometimes called Van Iveren), son of Catharine (Burckhart, aka Burger) and Myndert Frederickse Van Ivern.

Meyer-2520 and Meyer-687 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents (albeit with different profiles and variant names), same husband (same issue about multiple profiles and names). Part of a duplicated pair of family trees.
