Biography

Best[1] identifies Hans, b.c.1684 as the son of Hans Meyer, Mennonite, of Reihen, Germany, noting that he is recorded in 1717 in Reihen and identified as "the younger". She suggests also that he is the Hans Meyer who was baptised in 1724 in Pequea, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, by Peter Becker, and helped to elect Conrad Beissel as church leader in 1740. He died in 1769 in Ephrata, described as "der alt bruder".

Best notes that Hans married Magdalena, who died in Ephrata c.1750, and records only one child to the couple : Barbara b.c.1712 and d.14 Jan 1786 in Ephrata (known as Sister Jael, daughter of Johan Mayer).

Meyer-2370 and Meyer-2816 do not represent the same person because: This profile represents a person that probably never existed.

Myer-206 and Meyer-2816 appear to represent the same person because: Same given and middle names. Only one includes dates, there is nothing to indicate that he was named for a brother who died earlier. Neither includes confirmed sources, both were apparently created in gedcom upload on same day.
