here is the email:

I like Ashley's idea about diversity and different lifestyles, and I think I have an idea that could build on that and include the elements of mass comm usage. Are you all familiar with the Priceless Matercard commercials? (If not- here's a clip of one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ccv4dZHRDE) I guess my idea would be to take a wide variety of people of different ages, gender, nationalities, etc. and photograph them as they go about their day. Rather than using a dollar amount, we'd include the amount of time they do certain activities. As we photograph their activities, we can include the amount of media in their lives... Does that make sense? For example have photo one of Person A sleeping with a caption that reads something like: 7:00 AM Sleeping. No Media; 8:00 Wake up to cell phone alarm clock playing Kanye West; 9:00 to 9:30 Drive to work listening to radio, passing billboards; 4:30 to 5:15 Facebook browsing... and so on. I realize that none of us will be able to actually follow one person around all day and document every time they encounter mass media, but we can probably pose specific images that would propel each story forward. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, but I think there could be an interesting project there that may involve both story telling and media usages. Does this make sense?
