John Meyrick, also a minister, was born in 1579. He married Dorothy, daughter of Mathew and Elizabeth (Young) Bishop. They had four sons: William, John, James, and Thomas, whose destiny was to be in the settlement of Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay Colonies and whose descendants contributed remarkably in the development of two nations.
Great Migration Directory, p 226: Merrick, John: Unknown; 1637; Hingham [HiBOP 52; SLR 1:109-10; Hingham Hist 3:70; SPR Case #59, Case #90 (“Elizabeth Moricke”)]. There may be some conflation going on...the probate on wife Elizabeth's profile relates to this entry.

Looks like this profile is in need of attention. I’m a direct descendant and I can update it in a few weeks, unless on of the cousins on the trusted list is available to do it.
On his wife's (orphan) bio, there is a version of his will that appears to narrow down his death date. Any experts on this family/man who can answer my question there:
What is the meaning of the phrase in the will (or second artifact) reading:
"Deposed 9:7:1647"
Given his will was written 24 Jun 1647, are we to infer her husband died between June 24th and July 9th (or Sept 7th)? Or merely, sometime before 1650 as currently given on his bio?
This is the deposition of the witnesses when the will was brought to court. The document actually says the 9th of the 7th month, meaning 9 September (7th month was September on the Julian calendar in use at the time). But this is for the man who lived in Hingham, and there is no evidence he was connected to Meyricks elsewhere in MA Bay Colony. The Roxbury date is given in the Genealogy of the Merrick-Mirick-Myrick Family as the death date for John of Hingham, which is obviously incorrect, and doesn't give a source.
The Merrick Genealogy suggested that John Meyrick, the father of the 4 brothers who immigrated to Massachusetts, was the same John Merrick who settled at Hingham (Mass.) and died there on 2 July 1747. It appears that this version of his life was followed by some contributors to this profile, but it got buried by some other material. John who died at Hingham in 1647 is documented in History of Hingham, part 3, page 70: https://archive.org/stream/historyoftownofh0203hing#page/70/mode/2up
