Biography

Caroline was born on the 13 March 1868 near Riverton, South Australia. She is the daughter of Johannes Lehmann and Eliza Noack.

On 01 May 1889, at the age of 20 years, Caroline married Neil Poole in his mother's home, Unley, South Australia. (3)

Caroline and Neil settled in the Saddleworth district. Their six children are:

1. James Archibald POOLE, born 12 June 1891,Cogills Creek near Saddleworth, married Florence Lilian SURMAN;

2. Violet POOLE, born 18 July 1894, in Auburn, married Ernest Alfred WORMLEIGHTON;

3. Olive Myrtle May POOLE, 02 October 1897, in Kooringa, married Guiseppe ARBOIT;

4. Mary POOLE, born 19 January 1901, Coghills Creek, married Massimiliano ARBOIT;

5. Charles POOLE, born 11 March 1902, near Saddleworth;

6. Rose May, born 27 May 1906, near Saddleworth.

Caroline died on 28 November 1953 in Port Pirie, South Australia at the age of 85 years. (4)
