Biography

Daughter of Casper Michael and Hester Boltz.

Wife of John Dermody.

Mother of William Dermody, John Dermody, James Dermody, Daniel Dermody, George E. Dermody, Jerry Dermody

Born and raised in Decatur County, Indiana; she came with the family to Clay County, Illinois.

She married John Dermody in 1863.

Resided 1880 in Washington, Parke, Indiana.[1]

By 1900 she had returned to Clay County, Illinois, where she and John were living with son Jerry and Jerry's wife Edna. Jerry and Edna were parents of Grace and Edna Dermody.[2]

Martha was a widow by 1910. She was living with Jerry and Edna Dermody and their children Margaret, Leo, Daniel, Ethel and Evaline.[3]

Martha was burned to death while burning trash in her yard.
