Born to a military family (USAF), I've lived in several states and 2 foreign countries (Philippines and Okinawa), before finally settling in Texas. I married in 1977, graduated high honors with a degree in Accounting in 1978. The faculty at Tarleton State University honored me with a membership to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Currently, I own a publishing company, Black Wolf Books, Inc., through which I write and publish historical novels. In addition, and following my deep interest in genealogy, I've also:

  • co-compiled and published autobiographical stories in "Flossie Garrett: True Happenings in My Lifetime" (ISBN 978-1-939332-03-5)
  • published "Time's Tapestry" a genealogy of the Burrell family written by Charles E. Burrell (ISBN 978-1-939332-06-6)
  • published "My Mothers' Eyes", a genealogy of the Bremer matriarchal line written by Charles E. Burrell (ISBN 978-1-939332-08-0)
  • published "Steven Michaud: In a Time of Change" a biography written by Larry Michaud (ISBN 978-1-939332-05-9)

Hello Karen, I received your message regarding Crosley Smith - 17944, who was my gr-gr-grandfather. Because there is quite a bit of wrong information in the 'Crosby' Smith - 103493 file, I really am not interested in merging these two files. I have no doubt that the two people are the same person, but I do not want to incorporate invalid information into my work.

Hi Karen,

Greg Lavoie, Dave Rutherford and I have put a lot of work into restructuring the Canada Project. Have a look at the new project page.

You'll see that we've changed the project name to the Canada Project and the badge will be changed shortly. We've done this in order to provide lots of ways for people to contribute to Canadian Profiles. We've also moved towards a team approach with top level teams being lead by Project Coordinators and sub-teams being lead by Team Leaders.

Would you like to continue in the Canada Project, and if so, which team(s) would you like to be on?

Let me know if you have any questions. Once I hear back from you I'll add you to the Google group and get you set up in your team(s).
