Word has been received here of the death of Charles Michels, 86, a native of Richland county, at Tacoma, Washington, on January 15. He was and uncle of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gibson and Roy Michels of Wakefield and Mrs. Rolla Fuson, Mrs. Lela Goldsmith and Ennis Michels of Olney.
Mr. Michels had been living at Omak, Washington, but passed away at a Tacoma hospital. Funeral services were held at Omak on January 18.
He was born at Wakefield, Ill., November 26, 1873. He came to Pine Creek with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Michels in 1891.
On December 25, 1897, he married Mary Adeline McPherson. They operated a Pine creek ranch until 1943 when they moved to Tonasket. Since 1945 they have lived at Omak.
Surviving are the widow, a son, Fred: daughter, Mrs. Lee Hylton, and sister, Mrs. Delilah Didra, all of Omak; sons Edgar of Okanogan and Lester of Tacoma; another daughter, Mrs. George McCallum, Riverside; and another sister, Mrs. Dora Alberg, Electric City. A daughter Nora died in 1930.
