Biography

Albert Abraham Michelson was born at Strelno, Prussia on December 19, 1852, son of Samuel Michelson and Rozalia Przylubska.[1][2]

Field: electromagnetism, optical physics.

He received the Nobel Prize for Physics for his work on finding the speed of light.[3]

His first wife was Margaret Hemingway (m. 1877-1897).

They had:

  3. Elsa Elizabeth

His second spouse was Edna Stanton (m. 1899–1931).

They had:

  1. Beatrice Michelson.
  2. Dorothy Michelson.
  3. Madeleine Michelson.
