Biography
Thomas Ferguson Mickle or Meikle was born in 1849 at Duns (or Dunse) in southern Scotland. Spelling was flexible - both the surname and the city were written variously. His parents were David Mickle / Meikle and Margaret Pater Ferguson.
Thomas was listed in the 1851 and 1861 UK censuses at Duns with his parents and siblings.
At some later date Thomas migrated to Australia, where he married Jane Leeson in 1879.
He died in 1902 at or near Melbourne, Victoria. A tombstone shows the Mickle spelling.
Death
He died in the state of Victoria, in 1902 aged 52.
