Are Sarah Middleton and Sarah (Neville) Carter the same person? See also: Find A Grave: Memorial #248000325. This "profile" claims that Sarah Neville was the wife of George Carter (abt.1742-abt.1822), son of Jacob and Sarah Carter. That would make Sarah Neville her son's wife.

http://www.wiregrassgenealogy.com/captdave55/crews2015a/267.htm: According to this website, George Carter, "ancestor of several thousand Wiregrass Georgians" was the son of Jacob Carter and Sarah (unknown) born in 1714.

Find A Grave: Memorial #11019571: George's Find A grave memorial is connected to a WIFE named Sarah Middleton, born 1750, in Edgefield County, S.C., died 1824, in Liberty County, Georgia. (F.A.G. memorial 248000325)

George Carter (abt.1742-abt.1822): George Carter, to whom the Wiregrass Genealogy page refers is shown as husband of Sarah Neville, with no original sources

In 1717, her father, Martin Middleton, was granted 90 acres in Isle of Wight County and her future father-in-law came from the same county.

Jun 1760 – Colleton County, South Carolina - Sarah Middleton - mortgagee of Joseph Wilkinson. [1]
We don't know who this Sarah Middleton was. Since, at that time, widows could own property in their own name but married women could not, we can assume that Middleton was her married name and that she was a widow.

Her profile has been disconnected from her husband Jacob Carter (abt.1720-abt.1800), though they still share the children. I would suggest that her profile should, instead, be edited to show that her surname is unknown, and state what evidence exists that her first name was Sarah. Then reconnect the spouses. Clearly the children had both a mother and father, and they should be shown as such. If you disagree, please explain further to help your cousins decide what should be done. Thank you, Deb
This profile makes Sarah 15 when she got married to Jacob, who would have been about 40 years of age.

In addition, you have a 2nd Sarah added to Jacob Carter. See Carter-3209. 1. Sarah (unknown) Carter = Carter-457935 2. Sarah (Middleton) Carter = Middleton-4566

In addition, the CHILDREN for Sarah are very different on both profiles.

It appears you may be mixing two different people.

Thanks!

Sara is shown with two husbands named Jacob. Which one is correct? Also, is there a link or transcription of the source for record referenced at Christ Church Parrish, Middlesex, Virginia? This information would be helpful on this profile. Thank you!
