Anne Middleton was born in 1729 in Charles County, Maryland[1]the daughter of James Middleton and Sarah (Smith) Middleton. She married (1)Thomas Jenkins of Georgia and (2) Charles Beavin.[2]
At the September Court for Charles County in 1744 Anne Jenkins, widow of Thomas Jenkins, had the sheriff issue citations against Susanna Jenkins, her mother-in-law for allegedly concealing effects which belonged to her [Anne’s] deceased husband. Madam Susanna Jenkins aged 58 denied the charge, but declared that about two months before the marriage of her son, Thomas, with a daughter of James Middleton, she agreed that if James Middleton would give his daughter a Negro, she would give her son a Negro girl called Poll. Mr. Middleton, however, never complied with his agreement, so she was not obligated to keep her part of the bargain.[3]
Anne died December 31, 1795, leaving eight children. [2]
